So, beauty has kinda taken a bit of a backseat on my blog recently, as you can probably tell i'm massively into my food atm (when am I not?) however, I've acquired a few things lately that I am absolutely in ~love~ with and thought I would share my findings and give beauty a bit of much needed space on my blog again.

First up are these beautiful eyeshadows by Lord & Berry, now I will admit i'm not a huge eyeshadow wearer unless it's a special occasion or I have more than half an hour to get ready in the morning(I wish) saying that, i've been all over these little beauties, over the lid would be far too much for my liking but a line carefully swiped under the lower lash line for a pop of colour has been my ~go-to~ of late, I feel like it instantly wakes my face up, gives me a fresh looking eye and adds that element of fun to my "most of the time, boring face of make up".
Top tip: The colour intensifies if you apply with a wet brush!! ooo and also I think i've mentioned them before but thought i'd include the Lord & Berry Lipstick crayons too, they are super creamy, stay put for ages and come in array of gorgeous shades. Next up is this ~amazing~ Rosehip oil from RosehipPLUS, this product has been a life saver over the summer months, it instantly revives my skin and has helped my dryness SO much(!) I slather this on about an hour before bed and let it sink in overnight, in the morning my skin is bouncy, supple and glowing, if you're on the market for a face oil you ~need~ to try this, my skin has certainly thanked me for it and whats better than all natural ingredients ay?

Right...i'm not going to lie, when these Luxe brushes hit the market and started cropping up everywhere I completely dismissed them thinking it was just another stupid beauty craze to make a bit of money, however... I was SO wrong, these brushes have changed my foundation routine and have made applying make up in the morning fun again, I use them with Effaclar Duo+ Foundation in the day and with NARS Sheer Glow for an evening along with Collection concealer and they blend the products so evenly and make my skin look flawless, I am so pleasantly surprised by these little beauts and before I miserably shrug something off (the struggles of being a moody bitch) in the future I will give it the benefit of the doubt because these have blown my mind, thank you Luxe Studio.

And Finally... Again another one of those products I thought was a bit of a gimmick...wait for it.... I was wrong.. again (I really need to stop being so dubious of products) is the XLash Eyelash Serum, this is said to support eyelash growth and give you longer, healthier lashes using only natural products, seems to good to be true right? Wrong (again) I have been using this stuff for only a couple of weeks and I must say, it has made my lashes look insane already, I use it on my eyebrows too and i'm hoping, fingers crossed my brows will benefit from it also, all you do is brush a thin layer onto your lash line before bed, simple as that, no sticky, wet feeling and it doesn't irritate your eyes in the slightest, perfect! I will be sure to report back on my eyelash growth over the next month or two so keep your eye's peeled(!).

Hello from sunny England....(!) I'm going to be honest, I didn't think i'd be walking around in a raincoat and wellies at the start of September thats for sure. Part of me is clinging onto any possible Summer we have left and the other part is thinking sod it, i'm SO ready for Autumn and can't be bothered to fight this weather any longer(!) That being said we braved the rain this past weekend, if you can't beat it, join it right? and headed off to one of our favourite National Trust's, Hanbury Hall & Gardens...yep were officially old(!) I bloody LOVE National Trust Day's out and we have recently become members (yep getting older by the second) so we packed the dogs up and went for a long walk around the property and also did the black walk which surrounds it.

I was quite smug when I opened the curtains to rain that morning as i've been dying to wear my new coat from Animal, isn't it awesome? and the perfect transitional jacket? I've been trying to inject a bit of colour into my wardrobe over the past few months so when the lovely lot at Animal sent me the coat and vest I let out a little squeal, orange is one of my favourite colours and the little pops of it here and there against the black makes me super happy, it's surprisingly warm too, so just teamed with my hoody underneath kept me toasty and dry, I have a feeling this one may be sold out but here's another beaut pattern in the same style, it's on sale too, only £30!!! Bargain.

We all love a quick and easy meal and there’s nothing worse than getting home from a long day at work to find nothing in the fridge apart from some old furry veg and the remains of that stinking cheese which you thought was a good idea at the time but should have been thrown out a month ago!! Trust me, as much as I love food and I love to cook, sometimes after a day at the office I just cba, so this is where Mindful Chef comes in and saves the day!
Mindful Chef is a subscription box which delivers the freshest of recipes right to your doorstep using ingredients sourced from local Devonshire farms (you don’t even have to leave the house, WINNER!) I have teamed up with them to show you guys just how easy it can be to cook from scratch and include healthy/new recipes into your lifestyle, it’s not rocket science and it will stop you caving in and reaching for spaghetti hoops on toast, I know…. We’ve all been there(!)

The idea behind Mindful Chef's recipes is to cut out refined carbs and to reduce our intake of sugar, both of which are things I used to binge on but since changing my diet at the start of this year and making a conscious effort to cut down my carb intake this box immediately stood out to me and I think it's a genius idea, it's all about being Mindful (as the name would suggest) about what you are putting in your body, for example, love white rice but hate the bloated slug it leaves you feeling like? Swap it up for something like broccoli/cauliflower rice, it's SO good for you and if i'm honest it tastes a million times nicer, after a month of cutting rice out completely I don't even miss it, a very bold statement from a former rice fiend(!) One of my favourite dishes was actually the one above which is the Sri Lanken-Style Curry & Broccoli Rice, it was abosultley delicious and we have made it a few times since.

Clockwise from top: Sri Lanken-Style Curry & Broccoli Rice, Fresh Veg, Mindful Burger Poached Egg & Parsnip Fries, Pad Thai with Chicken, Pepper & Courgetti.

We have been trying different recipes from Mindful Chef over the past 4 weeks and I can truly say that it's the best food box we've tried (we have tried a few) all the ingredients are extremely fresh, everything is already weighed out for you and there is zero waste (Massive bonus), they cater for all diets, meat eaters, vegetarians, vegans, the recipes are so well thought out and are very innovative. We have loved creating these meals too, they are very quick, easy, fun to make and super yummy, oh and let's be honest they are pretty damn photogenic too don't you think?

If you are on the look out for new recipes or want to change your diet then Mindful Chef is certainly for you and great place to try new things (!) I will be sharing some of my favourite recipes with you soon so watch this space.

I've been meaning to post these photos for far too long, my bad!! It's something a bit different to what I normally post but the colours are beautiful and I couldn't let them sit in an album on my computer amongst the mess that is my photo album(!)
Anywho, this was the perfect day out, we loaded the car with hounds, picked Bruno up (Mum & Dad's Staffy) and headed to the local woods, nothing (in my opinion) beats a woodland walk on a Sunday afternoon, obviously followed by massive amounts of roast dinner, so we walked up a sweat, played with the dogs, took pictures and chatted for hours! We also took the dogs' favourite treats from Petshop (which is an online pet supplies store), which kept them amused as well as stick chasing and just generally beating each other up(!)
They adored the Whitefish & Seabass cookies a great natural dog treat, although we had to rein it in a bit as they kept coming back for more the greedy buggers! At the end of their walk they enjoyed the Dentalife Dog treat sticks...a bit too much, definiteley need to buy them some more of these!! Oh and Not forgetting their new favourite dinner from Huntland which is a grain free dog food, they loved this so much! I'm a bit dubious of trying new dog foods as they can get upset stomachs quite easily but this went down a treat and will be buying more when we run out!

You know those days where you just need to take a step back from everything online and spend some time with family and your pooches? It was certainly one of those days and i'm making a conscious effort to take every Sunday offline, get outside and appreciate the world around me, deep I know but it makes alllll the difference.

How do you spend your Sundays?
Also have you ever shopped for your furry friends on Petshop? If not you should check it out, everything you could ask for on one website, genius!!

If you're anything like me then the word "protein" scares you, or at least for me, it used to.... since turning my diet and fitness regime around at the start of this year and doing my research I have realised how much it can support you, long gone the old wives tales about it making you gain weight and making women really bulky, if used correctly and in moderation it does wonders for supporting muscle growth and keeping you fit and healthy, so to comfort everyones fears and gag reflex (which comes with drinking that dreaded milkshake for yet another morning), I've teamed up with USN and put together a super quick and easy pre-workout breakfast which changes the game while still giving you all that goodness and support, plus if you have a sweet tooth you will ~love~ this!

:YOU WILL NEED:
FOR THE SMOOTHIE
. 1 Banana
. 1 Beetroot
. 100g Frozen Berries
. 1 Serving (34g) of USN Vanilla Whey Protein
. 1 TSP Nut Butter
. 1 Cup of Milk (Semi Skimmed, Almond, Oat Whichever you fancy)

:FOR THE TOPPING:
(The Choice is yours but I used)
. Toasted Coconut Shavings
. Whole Almonds
. Chia Seeds
. Granola
. Cacao Nibs
. Blueberries

:HOW TO:
1. Place all smoothie ingredients into a food processor or hand blender and mix until combined, you should have a thick, creamy mixture, if it's too runny add a bit more banana.

2. Pour your mixture into your bowl (there's enough here for two, or an afternoon snack) sprinkle with your favourite toppings and serve.

Yep....it's that easy and it tastes amazing (if I do say so myself)!!
If you're bored of drinking milkshakes and want to try something different why not give this a go?
Be sure to let me know how you get on if you do and I'd love to see your photos too.

If you have followed me for a while then i'm sure you know that around 3 years ago Paul and I moved in together and I have since been inundated with questions about the house and interiors, I've never really got round to showing the inside of the house, I'm not sure why because i'm so proud of what we have made it, maybe its just the fact that it's an ongoing project and will probably never be finished or that it's our little place of privacy but with that said I thought I'd document it here and if you guys enjoy snippets into our home then I will no doubt be swayed to show more rooms, anyway, today we are in the Bedroom and although there is still art to go up on the walls, new bedside tables to be bought and bits and bobs we are pretty happy with it's progress from what was once a blank canvas.

Paul handmade the bed with his fair hands (clever huh? he has his uses) and we had the headboard made at a local wood mill, I brought my dressing table with me from my parents house because I couldn't bare to part with it although I think it will end replacing it sooner or later much to my disgust(!) As for the bedside tables, I really want new ones!!! we've looked everywhere but my god aren't they expensive? it's okay if you need one but two just kills the bank balance even more, so if you have any cheap-ish suggestions (something that isn't going to fall apart in a year) then please let me know! However I'm in love with our bedside lights from First Choice Lighting they are probably the coolest edition to the bedroom and give off such a subtle glow in the evening, LOVE THEM!! and of course we can't forget Betty & Burt, we can't keep them out of the bedroom or off the bed the little buggers! They are like a permanent fixture so they had to be included!

I hope you've all had a great week and weekend

Okay, I know everyone and their mother has eaten at YO!Sushi before and I know everyone knows how delicious it is BUT.... this is kinda a big deal for where I live.....we've only gone and had a BRAND NEW YO!Sushi open up in Worcester. I was extremely excited when I heard about my little city's new food complex and even more excited when I heard that YO! was going to be at the heart of it, obviously I was going to make a trip there at some point but I actually got invited to check out the restaurant and chow down on all the goodness so I immediately jumped at the opportunity, packed my camera (and boyfriend) and headed down.

The staff were super friendly and sat us right next to the kitchen so immediately I was in my element watching all the food being prepared and taking in all the smells which filled the room.
As normal the conveyer belt went round and in true Kate fashion I stocked up on Edamame Beans, Crispy Salmon Skin Rolls, Kaiso Seaweed and Salmon Sashimi, all of which were divine and I could quite easily rack up a hefty bill off the conveyer alone!! We ordered Beef Tataki, Hoisin Duck Bao and Furikaki Fries which if you haven't tried before you need to asap, they are coated in Sriracha mayo and sprinkled with Yuzu Furikaki, Sesame Aonori and Smokey Bonito Flakes (YUM!!)
Everything was super fresh and tasted amazing.

As for deserts, i'm not going to lie, in all the times i've been to Yo!Sushi I have NEVER tried one of their deserts, mainly because i've been a total pig with the mains and never had room but this time I made sure I tried some and Oh my god i've been missing out! Now I'm not sure if it is on the menu in every YO! restaurant but our lovely waitress recommended a few things and the one that stood out was the Doughnut, if you have a sweet tooth you will adore this, it's like one of the Bao buns but is deep fried and filled with ice cream, caramel and pistachios... I know right, it was immense, if you get the chance to try one you must(!) We also tried the Malted Chocolate Pot which, i'm going to be honest... was far too sickly for me, sorry YO! and then finished off with the Souffle Cheesecake which was beautiful but i'm afraid to doughnut took the win and I can't wait to have another!

Overall we had an awesome night, the food was delish, the service was brilliant, the restaurant was clean and fresh and we will most certainly be heading back asap, just writing this post has made me crave some more YO! and it's a good excuse for another date night (!)

Have you visited Yo! Worcester yet? What's your favourite dish?

Life has been hectic as of late, so much to do, such little time and when it gets like this my head just fails me and everything gets a bit too overwhelming, with this being said we took a week out and headed to Devon in the camper van, we ate, we drank we frolicked along the beach and even though the majority of the holiday was spent watching the rain piss down (this was our only sunny day!!) it was just what I needed.
Anyway on a more cheerful note, how amazing is this hoody? It's from Animal's 30th Anniversary collection which I want everything from and i've got to say, I bloody LOVE it! I wore it everyday while away and i'm still wearing it now i'm home, it acted as the perfect beach cover up and i'm not going to lie I kinda felt like one of those real cool surfer girls, which i'm definitely NOT! Kate + Surfboard = Disaster (!) It's also now in the sale so hurry if you want to pick it up, you can find it HERE.

Also have you noticed i've had a bit of a blog re-vamp? The gorgeous Kotryna Bass worked her magic and I now feel like a "pro blogger" with my swanky new layout, what'cha think?
