So it's that time of the year again, my favourite time, holiday time!!
Not sure what to take to the beach this year? I've helped you out with my beach bag essentials.
Everyone and their mother's are packing up and jetting away to warmer climates and with holiday season upon us it can be a real headache knowing what to take. I like to avoid the stress (and paying for extra luggage) and take as little as possible. This year I'm off to Ibiza and I have managed to whittle my carry on down to a few outfits and two pairs of shoes so that leaves plenty of room to squeeze in my beach bag along with those all important beach essentials. I've teamed up with the lovely lot at Ann's Cottage to bring you the best picks from their summer range and get you holiday ready.

A beach bag isn't complete with a gorgeous bikini right? I'm loving cobalt blue this summer so instantly gravitated towards this Animal set, I always opt for a bandeau style to avoid those pesky tan lines, it's also super flattering on all figures.

Obviously you need a bag to keep everything in on long days on the beach, I usually go for anything canvas or waterproof, we all know that sand gets everywhere! so something that is easily washable is perfect. I adore the colours on this Billabong one, along with the rope handle! It's also mahoosive so you can cram loads in (don't forget the snacks).

Protect those eyes ladies!! Sunglasses might look cool but we also need them to block out those UV rays. I take my Ray Ban's everywhere with me, I've had my prescription put in the lenses too so I can actually see... (all those surfers)!

A sun hat is a must, you don't realise how much the heat can effect you, be it a headache, sunstroke, dizziness, a hat can really help to combat these holiday nightmares and everyone looks good in a hat so there's no excuse! I love this Roxy boater straw one, I may have to treat myself, nothing like a pre holiday treat.

This is a given, I'm 99.9% sure that everyone take flips flops on holiday, if you don't, why?? So easy to chuck on, pop in your beach bag, wear to the pool, I'm sure I don't need to explain why you need flip flops in your beach bag, do I? Grab some Havaianas for extreme comfort.

Finally, I had to give this a little mention, how beaut is this Billabong beach blanket? Perfect if you can't get a sun bed and quite frankly much prettier than a sun bed, Rolls up small enough to pop in your bag too so you can move wherever the sun goes, bonus!

So those are my top 6 items to pop in your beach bag this summer, what are your beach bag essentials? Don't forget the suncream!!!

Summer is finally here and that can only mean one thing....feet out! Pack those sweaty trainers away and embrace that air flow around your toes. This has got to be one of my favourite things about the warmer weather, don’t get me wrong I love my trainers to death but sometimes your feet just need a bit of TLC. I've teamed up with Superdrug to bring you my Summer foot care routine (Praying I get no foot fetish comments, I know you're out there people!!)

I Usually start my routine with thoughts like “eww, why did I let them get so bad over winter” or “Oh it’s okay, no one will see them up close” that being said, since trying out these products I've seen a vast improvement in my trotters, especially when it comes to the softness, my heels are SO much smoother and this brings me so much joy!

STEP 1
So I tend to start with soaking my feet in a bowl of hot water with my favourite shower gel (or have a long bath) this will make the skin super supple and easier to file and hard bits, it also makes your toenails much easier to cut. I also use Superdrug’s Exfoliating Foot Scrub to get rid of any stubborn dead skin that’s lurking.

STEP 2
After patting my feet dry I will take a pumice stone or a special foot file and get rid of any hard parts such as calluses. I sometimes suffer with corns on the tops of my toes because I have hammer toes (gross I know) so I make sure I pay close attention to these and keep them filed and soft as poss.

STEP 3
Now it’s time to pay those toes some attention. If you have nail scissors then use them if not nail clippers will do, I find nail scissors give your toes a much nicer cut and can stop you cutting too low and causing ingrown toe nails, however to find a good pair you need to spend the money, cheap ones aren't great and will go blunt after a few cuts. TOP TIP; I push my cuticles back and cut off any excess, this makes your nail beds look longer.

STEP 4
Choose your favourite colour. I always gravitate towards reds and corals, I just think it looks classic, chic and goes with pretty much any colour you are wearing clothing wise. I always double up my layers and use a top coat for a glossy finish. My favourite nail brand at the moment is Pretty Woman NYC, their colour selection is beautiful, they are also cruelty free and vegan too. The colour I'm wearing is "Red lips and wine sips".
6 steps to the perfect summer pedicure, summer pedicure, pedicure tips, beauty, katelouiseblog, pretty woman NYC, Superdrug, Superdrug foot care range, luxury uk blog, ukluxuryblog, photography,
STEP 5
Once your polish has dried fully (I always wait a good hour) Apply a Superdrug foot nourishing sock pack, these are great for putting moisture back into your feet, and also so relaxing after a long day at work or shopping, with their cooling properties your feet will feel like they are floating! Leave on for 30-40 mins for best results.

STEP 6
Don’t worry this is the final step! Time to rub that cream in, Superdrug’s Soothing Foot Lotion is beautiful. It’s extremely rich, thick and creamy, it sinks in to the skin within minutes and leaves your feet super soft. I leave my routine here but if you want to do even more then apply this cream before bed and put some cotton socks on, you will wake up with brand new feet, I promise!!

What are your top tips for the perfect summer pedicure? Do you spend a fortune getting them done professionally or are you a DIY kinda gal?

I've always been a huge thrifter, for one, I love finding bargains (David Dickinson would be proud) and secondly I just love being able to find quirky items, things that you wouldn't necessarily find on the high street. Since moving into our own home we've been able to decorate it fully to our own taste using the pieces I've gathered from charity shops, car boot sales, hand me downs you name it, anything second hand I'm all over it. I've gathered together my top tips for buying second hand homewares.

SET A BUDGET
This would probably be one of my most important tips! It's very easy to get carried away with those bargains whilst charity shopping, before you know it, two hours has gone by and you're out of pocket by 50 quid (lesson learnt many a time) these days I usually go with £20 cash in my back pocket and just limit myself otherwise I end up buying stuff for the sake of it, well unless you're a millionaire then ignore this tip however if you're lucky enough to be raking it in then charity shopping probably isn't for you anyway!

HAVE A THEME IN MIND
This is a pretty obvious one, you know what you like, you know how the rest of your house is decorated, you will have a theme in your head of how you want your home to look like so this should be easy. I'm into earthy tones like browns, greys, greens and textures such as wood, metal, slate, ceramics, weave and plants. If you are struggling for ideas then get on Pinterest, I spend a lot of my time pinning home inspo, there are so many different styles out there that you are bound to fall in love with one. Start making mood boards and then take these ideas out thrifting, simple as that.

DIG, DIG & DIG SOME MORE
I'm not going to lie....there is a LOT of shit, unfortunatley you have to rifle through the shit to find the good stuff, but trust me, it's worth it! On my latest trip I found some absolute gems, you can see what I picked up in my latest Homeware video. Granted, it does take time, it does take patience but if you love finding unique pieces, not to mention bargains then it's just something you have to do. I find the best stuff tucked away at the back of shelves, in boxes on the floor, up high, poked inside other things, you just need to be aware of whats around. If you really want to get in the know you can ask the shop keepers when their delivery days are, if it is a well known charity they will have deliveries from bigger stores and warehouses on certain days, early bird gets the worm and all that!

KEEP A "NEED LIST" AT ALL TIMES
This goes hand in hand with knowing your theme. I keep a "Need" list on my phone and when something pops into my head that I need it goes straight on the list, rather than quickly heading out to the high street to get it I like to see if I can buy it secondhand first, chances are it'll be better quality, cheaper and quirkier. I am currently on the hunt for glass jugs to put flavoured water in for BBQ's or for whenever we are entertaining. I'm also on the hunt for vintage champagne glasses, wicker baskets and plant pots.

SHOP IN SMALL TOWNS INSTEAD OF CITIES
I can't stress enough how effective this is, the small town charity shops, car boots and jumble sales are where it's at. Take a step out of the city and head to the countryside, you will be amazed, not only are the prices ten times cheaper but the array of gems is noticeably different. Charity shops in big cities get picked over so quickly because it has become popular for people to grab a bargain and then sell it on for double the price (also a great benefit of thrifting) I don't have a problem with this as I sometimes do it myself but if you are shopping for yourself and just solely for your home then this isn't what you want, it's worth visiting the smaller, less popular places first, you won't be disappointed.

I've always been a bit of a burger fiend, give me one filled with anything and i'll munch my way through it in seconds, obviously my palette has come a long was since spending my teens slumped over a Mcdonalds counter, extremely drunk begging for double cheeseburgers at 3am (even though they were goddam tasty after spending a night in a painfully shit club, and hey, you need something to wash all that sambuca down don't you?) So fast forward a fair few years and I'm an actual adult enjoying really tasty, proper burgers, with that being said, let me introduce you to Burger Shop.

Now it's been open a fair while and we have only just visited, we haven't even visited the Hereford branch which has been open a damn sight longer and for a so called "food blogger" I'm quite disappointed in myself and take full responsibility for lack of laziness. Anyway that aside I had heard great things so we had a night free and decided to pop along.
INTERIOR
Now I think you'll agree the interior is just bloody perfect, right up my street, extremely minimal, exposed brickwork, foliage, wood, it just ticks all the boxes for me visually and also boasts a very relaxed vibe, a kind of... drop in, have your burger, a couple of drinks and head off vibe which I love! As much as I like making a night out of eating, I also love the quickness that Burger Shop seems to have nailed while still keeping the best quality.

THE FOOD
So obviously, I don't have to tell you, it's Burgers galore! One thing I did notice is that the menu is very refined, there is nothing I hate more than going out to eat and being hit with pages and pages of choices, one it's not necessary, two it boggles my tiny little mind and makes it impossible to choose and three  the quality gets lost when the poor chef is trying to cook millions of different things! So I was over the moon to see a minimal menu with a few specials. I went for The Worcester Blue Burger and Paul opted for Farmer Tom's Beef Burger, both of which I can say were bloody incredible and packed full of flavour. We had Rosemary Salted Chips and a House Slaw to share, which too, were divine, the portion sizes were perfect and we left feeling satisfied and by no means bloated. The ingredients used and the tastes than ran throughout didn't make it feel like a completely unhealthy meal either which makes a nice change to the usual feeling of guilt and sluggishness after a big burger.

We had Rosemary Salted Chips and a House Slaw to share, which too, were divine, the portion sizes were perfect and we left feeling satisfied and by no means bloated. food, fitness, some body protein, protein powder, nice tasting protein powder, luxury fitness blog, luxury uk blog, katelouiseblog, Superdrug, Superdrug offers, somebody protein offers, fitnessretreatblog, Superdrug discount code, some body discount code,
Ever suffer with that post workout slump? Need to get some protein in but hate tasteless shakes and haven't got time to make a slap up dinner full of the good stuff? Then look no further, this smoothie is packed full of goodness with everything you need to fuel you back up after a mornings exercise.
food, fitness, some body protein, protein powder, nice tasting protein powder, luxury fitness blog, luxury uk blog, katelouiseblog, Superdrug, Superdrug offers, somebody protein offers, fitnessretreatblog, Superdrug discount code, some body discount code,
Now I will start my saying I'm not an expert nor by any means a nutritionist this is merely what works for me and is absolutely delicious! Since January this year I have taken my fitness regime to a whole new level, if you have read this post you will know I'm spending as much time as I can running, not just for weight loss (although that bit is a nice bonus) but more for fitness, strength, peace of mind and acheivement. I won't lie, it’s bloody hard work but I enjoy it so much and the post run high is the best feeling in the world... that is until my afternoon slump when I'm starving hungry, have to be at work in an hours time and realise I haven't actually eaten very much.... this is where the smoothie comes in.

I know a lot of people can't stand protein shakes and yes I have tried a fair few over the past few months and some of them are literally rank, however I was recently sent over the Some Body banana range and I'm not going to beat around the bush but my mind was blown, it just tastes like you're eating a banana (no false chemical tastes hoorah!) and for me this is great because bananas are by far one of my favourite fruits, packed full of carbs and potassium they are certainly a fitness lovers dream! So with that being said onto the recipe.....

:YOU WILL NEED:
2 Scoops Some Body Banana Protein Powder
350ml Almond Milk
Handful of Frozen Berries
1 Banana
3 TSP Chia Seeds
2 TBSP Porridge Oats

:HOW TO:
Now this is massively straight forward, whack it all in a blender or Nutri-bullet and blitz until smooth, top with some of your favourite berries and enjoy. (Best served cold)
food, fitness, some body protein, protein powder, nice tasting protein powder, luxury fitness blog, luxury uk blog, katelouiseblog, Superdrug, Superdrug offers, somebody protein offers, fitnessretreatblog, Superdrug discount code, some body discount code,
So obviously you can just make a shake with the Some Body protein and it’s still a very pleasurable drink however, I've gone the full hog and bulked it up so not only does it add back in that protein to aid recovery but fills you up for a good couple of hours, the protein comes in loads of flavours too which I'm yet to try but I've got my eyes on the strawberry one next so watch this space. Oh and the whole Some Body Protein range including snacks and soft drinks are on offer over at Superdrug so quick, snap it up before it's all gone!

Let me know how you use your protein powder? Do you make protein pancakes? Smoothies or just drink it as it is? I'd love to know any recipes you have.

Much Love

Cookmate Cookery School in Worcester, UK has officially launched. The school is set above the well established Cookmate shop in Broad Street, the owners Caroline and Andrew Gregory have recently converted what was once an upstairs storage space into a beautiful school for budding food enthusiasts to learn new recipes, knife skills, and generally, to have fun with cooking.

I have to say they have nailed the interior, it's right up my street, it boasts clean lines, wood, marble and muted grey colours throughout. Everything looks so fresh and there is tonnes of space for groups or parties to come and enjoy the lessons. It is separated into two rooms, both fully equipped with everything you need. If you have any celebrations coming up like milestone birthdays, hen/stag dos, or just want a fun/different night out with your mates then this would be perfect.

THE CHEFS AND CLASSES?
So there are a few different chefs that teach these classes, we had the lovely Paul Bough who made the lesson super fun and very laid back, he taught us how to make focaccia ,which was so quick and simple, I've made it in the past but none of which turned out as good as the one I made with Paul, it was delicious! There are a few options you can choose from for your lessons, like what sort of class you want, you can learn how to cook Asian, Indian, Italian, learn knife skills you name it there is something for everyone, perfect for beginners right up to the very knowledgeable chef, there is always room to learn more.

FINALLY, WHY YOU SHOULD VISIT?
I've probably already covered the top points of why you should look in to Cookmate Cookery School, but if you are still unsure then I have few more points to make to hopefully sway your decision.

1. IT'S A DIFFERENT DAY/NIGHT OUT - Bored of just hitting the pub with your friends or spending every last penny in the shops? Trying something different and learning a new skill is much more rewarding than spending a whole months wages on a night out, trust me!!

2. TO SUPPORT LOCAL BUSINESSES - This is something I'm really passionate about, with more and more shops going into administration and people turning to internet shopping we need to shop local and keep our favourite shops in business!

3. TO MAKE FRIENDS - Not going in a big group but want to go on your own? Don't worry, there will be more people on your course, a perfect way to make new friends or to just socialise.

4. IMPROVE YOUR SKILLS - If you would like to be more confident in the kitchen then a cooking school is a great place to start, who knows you might even be the next Masterchef!!

5. IT'S SO MUCH FUN - Well if this isn't the best reason to go then I don't know what is, I'm not going to lie, I was quite nervous going in, it's the second time I've attended a cookery class and each time I've been a bit scared but I've always left feeling super confident and always had the best time, there's no pressure to make amazing meals just to have fun and put all the skills you've learnt into practice.

Let's start by saying I'm a huge accessory lover, I love everything from bags to jewellery to shoes and hair accessories, a bit of a magpie you might say? So when Majique contacted me and asked if I wanted to pick a few pieces from their website I got straight on the case.

A BIT OF BACKGROUND
Majique is an online jewellery retailer, selling high quality, innovate pieces at super affordable prices. They offer a diverse collection ranging from timeless classics to statement styles, you will have a field day rummaging through necklaces, rings, bracelets, brooches, you name it, they stock it! Everything they sell is completely hypoallergenic, nickel and lead free and beautifully designed.

MY CHOICES
I went onto the website with a completely open mind, I will fore warn you that there is A LOT to choose from so grab a cuppa and take your time. I trawled through quite a bit to find what I wanted but seriously there is something on there for everyone and everything is so affordable! Bonus right? The pieces I chose reflect my style to a T, I'm one of those people that has a different style each day, some days I want to be casual, some days a bit girly, some days smart and some days a bit quirky and I think the items I chose reflect this perfectly. I also had these pieces in mind for my upcoming holiday to Ibiza, I went last year with no jewellery at all( I still question why to this day) and felt super under dressed so this year I will be taking all of these pieces and chopping and changing them up as I go, they are all pieces I can take from day to night which is super handy when on holiday.

I adore the simplicity and clean lines of every item I picked up, they are so versatile and can be worn with any outfit which makes accessorising in the mornings a dream!

If you haven't checked out Majique get your bums on over and treat yourselves, there is tonnes of super affordable jewellery to choose from, what are you waiting for?

A bit like JT but far from sexy! If you have followed me from day dot and you're an OG reader you will know that my blog started as purely a personal style blog. It began as a place I would share all my new in pieces, my outfits, my shopping sprees etc and you know what? I kinda miss the old days. I tend to focus more on lifestyle and food as of late which don't get me wrong, I LOVE and will still be featuring! but I feel fashion has taken a backseat so here's to bringing it back. If you have read this post you will know I'm not about sticking to a niche, I just want to write about what interests me and hopefully someone out there will enjoy it and if not, I have a diary of my life to look back on when I'm old, grey and fucked! Yaaay

I'm not going to lie, I've been stuck in a massive rut with my outfits over the past year or so (hence not taking photos as they are SO boring) I spend most my days merchandising so I literally just go to work in jeans and a t-shirt for pure comfort (and anti sweat purposes, the worst part of the job!). So I'm just going to keep it real, I love my massive collection of boring clothes and the best bit is that they all go together, I don't have to think about what I'm wearing each morning and I'm always extremely comfortable.
That aside I'm currently obsessed with this aviator jacket from New Look, it's a gorgeous dark olive green, and my god is it warm, you don't even need a jumper underneath this bad boy although I do love wearing it over a logo hoody for added "coolness", if you can call it that?

So there you have it, fashion content is officially back on the blog, I hope you enjoy what's to come over the next few months and here's to having another excuse to go shopping.

I'm by no means a fitness freak, kinda wish I was but serious lack of motivation has always worked against me and the argument by brains sends to my legs that sounds something like this... "why the fuck would you want to go out in the rain when you can curl up on the sofa and have another cup of tea and a few more biscuits?" with that being said, this year I decided that I really needed to do something regarding my fitness so at the start of January I took it upon myself to start running, it's something that I have dabbled in on and off in the past and something that I can never seem to get better at but enjoy nonetheless, so here I am 3 months on and loving every second of it.

My goal isn't all about losing weight, if I do then of course that's an added bonus but what I really wanted to focus on was getting stronger and just generally being outside more, some people will choose to stick to a treadmill and that's perfectly fine but I love getting outside and taking in the scenery (plus who even spends their money on treadmills when the pavements and fields are free of charge? pffft no ta!). Another massive part of running was for my mind, it's not all about personal bests or speed but just getting out there and doing it is a massive sense of achievement for me and the post run high is one of the best feelings ever! My mind can get pretty stagnant doing the same thing day in day out and I easily become agitated so running has really helped me with this, the moment I start feeling angry, upset or just massively procrastinating I get my kit on and get out the house.
I for one can vouch for how hard it is, even the getting up and just doing it (which I actually find the hardest part btw) so here are my top 5 things to get you motivated, get your ass outta the house and get your body moving.

1.IT CLEARS THE MIND
Like I said, I use running as a type of therapy I guess... no internet, no phone, no one else, just me, my body and the great outdoors. Once I get into the flow I could go for ages, without getting all deep it seriously aids my mental health and helps me switch off from anything I have on my mind, if you suffer from anxiety or stress I highly recommend giving running a spin.

2.THE MUSIC
This is one of my favourite parts of going for a run. I get to whack my headphones on, turn them up as loud as they will go and just boss it! I absolutely love trance music along with house and dance, I've got quite the epic workout playlist over on Spotify (Username: slimbabe45....don't laugh!) if you need some workout inspo.

3.GET NEW KIT
I always find when I'm in a slump and falling out of love with exercise that wearing something new instantly makes me want to get back on it. You don't have to spend the earth on a brand new Nike tracksuit or Sweaty Betty leggings (although both are on my Wishlist) just some cool socks, some sweatbands or a new top will do the job just fine. It's quite materialistic but I find I workout my best when wearing new kit and feel super confident in it.

4.RUN BECAUSE YOU CAN!
Without sounding morbid...one day you will no longer be able to run.....okay so there's a select few oldies that are still killin' the marathons but not everyone is capable when they reach a certain age and unfortunately some people haven't even got the luxury of being able to run so don't take the ability for granted, use your body to its full extent.

5.GET HEALTHY
It goes without saying that there are huge health benefits to running or any form of exercise for that matter. This is something that has been on my mind as of late, I'm not getting any younger and I don't want to be a couch potato by the time I'm 40 so this has given me a massive kick up the bum to get active, you don't need to go mad every day and burn thousands of calories, just do something to get the heart rate up, take hiking for instance, a slow steady pace but enough incline to get that chest burning, this is something I want to do more of this summer.

So I hope this has inspired some of you to get up and get started, there's no right or wrong way to exercise and these are just a few of my tips to keep me motivated, I'd love to hear your tips and tricks that work for you too!

Much Love, K x
