NEW IN || AUTUMN CANDLES

tilly parker,tilly parker candle review,my jolie candle,my jolie candle review,christmas candles,autumnal candles,home, interiors,
Everybody and their mothers are candle obsessed these days,I know I am.I've been on the hunt for some festive scents recently and have stumbled upon two candles that are just divine.I like nothing more on a cold Autumn evening than to don my Pj's,sit down with a hot chocolate and to watch my candles flickering, letting off the most wonderful aromas.

First up is this Tilly Parker candle which I came across in Homesense (if you're a candle lover you need to check out Homesense's selection, one word...EPIC)It actually retails for £30 which I would never in a million years pay for a candle but I managed to snap it up for a mere £7.99.It burns amazingly too,I've used half and it has burnt evenly taking all the wax with it.It has notes of Magnolia,Jasmine and Opulent Woods,if you like masculine scents you will love this, and also the packaging is just drool worthy.

Next up is a new concept,it's a 'My Jolie Candle' basically you get a gorgeous smelling candle with a surprise piece of jewellery inside,I have only just started burning this Cinnamon beauty so i'm yet to reveal my jewels but I can tell you now that it smells awesome! if you're after a christmas candle then this is the one! They would also make a pretty cool stocking filler,a candle and some jewellery all in one.You can get your mitts on one HERE

CURRENTLY READING || NIGEL SLATER: THE KITCHEN DIARIES 2

Reading isn't for everyone,I will admit,I open a novel,my eyes get heavy and i'm immediately bored however when it comes to cookbooks my eyes light up and I instantly become inspired. The one chef who always inspires me and keeps me in the kitchen is Nigel Slater, his food is homely, comforting and bloody scrumptious.

I have just finished reading "The Kitchen Diaries 2" in preparation for hopefully receiving his new cookbook for Christmas(A Year Of Good Eating: The Kitchen Diaries 3).I love the way this book is laid out,he goes through every month of the year using food which is in season for that time and comes up with the most delicious dishes along with a story or explanation as to why he is cooking it,and why he's loves that particular dish.I love Nigel as a writer in general and his TV programmes always have me hooked as does his quirky personality.

I have tried numerous recipes out of this book, all of which are stunning and so tasty,if you are a lover of good food and simple cooking I can't recommend this book enough, lets hope the new one is just as good,i'm holding high hopes for it.

Have you read and good cookbooks lately? I'd love to hear your recommendations.

CITY GUIDE: A DAY IN LONDON

A day in London always means one thing to me....SHOPPING! However, when my boyfriend and I last visited we decided to do something different, save a bit of cash and explore more instead of spending all of our money on fast food and clothes.

We stayed with my brother and his girlfriend in Hackney which always makes things cheaper, if you have relatives or friends living there and can scrounge a couple of nights on their sofa it saves on forking out for Hotels.

DAY 1.

greenwich observatory, london, things to do in london
We decided to check out Greenwich Observatory which if you can face a good old walk and an incredibly steep incline then I definitely recommend doing it,the view from the top is stunning and on a clear day you can see for miles. We also had a mooch around The Cutty Sark and Greenwich itself where I drooled over everything in Anthropolgie.

THAT EVENING.

the old ship inn hackney london, chilli con carne,
We headed back to Hackney and went for dinner at The Old Ship Inn which was divine,I had Chilli Con Carne while everyone else opted for burgers, the food was Delish as were the copius amounts of Gin cocktails we ordered.A very laid back vibe with lovely decor and friendly staff, a little gem to check out if you're ever in the Hackney area, very reasonably priced too as eating out in London can be an absolute rip off.

Why not try something a little different next time you visit London?  I'd love to try something new like visiting the English National Opera (ENO),they hold all sorts of events at the London Coliseum, i'd also love to see the Nutcracker in Ballet form this Christmas,a great day out for the family.I'm off to book my Opera tickets London now!!!

Any Recommendations for things to do in the big smoke? Let me know below

TEE : VINTAGE || RINGS: HAPPINESS BOUTIQUE & PILGRIM @ BURNS JEWELLERS || BELT: CHARITY SHOP || WATCH:NIXON || JEANS: CHI CHI LONDON || TRAINERS: ADIDAS GAZELLE

Okay it's official...I'm well and truly obsessed with buying band t-shirts,especially in the form of one of my favourite bands of all time ZZTOP.I now have 5 vintage zztop t-shirts which may seem quite unnecessary just one band but they look so bloody cool I just can't help myself.I will admit, they cost a bomb to buy and this beauty is floating around the web for £120 but wait for it.... I bagged it on Depop for a mere £10 and it's completely genuine, stroke of luck or what?I nearly fainted when I saw it,I feel sorry for who sold it to me as they clearly didn't realise but if its any constellation they made me a very happy girl.

Blue is having a moment in my wardrobe at the moment,it makes me feel like i'm stepping out of my Black,White,Grey comfort zone and dabbling with colour a bit.The shade of these jeans go perfectly with the top, they were just crying out to be worn together.

Much Love

SUNNIES : RAYBAN || JACKET : SHORES || SHIRT : ROMWE || JEANS : RIVER ISLAND || BOOTS : ASOS

This is one of the best outfits i've chucked on for a long time,I've become so bored of my clothes,I own around eight pairs of jeans and only wear one pair,I have millions of t-shirts and stick to the same threadbare one all the time and I own enough shoes to fit hundreds of feet yet I stick to the same smelly trainers day in day out, does this make me a slob or am I not alone in this?
Anyway,I took it upon myself to do the mundane task of sorting out my wardrobe,in doing so I stumbled across some right gems and this is one of the outfits that was born.I love this leather jacket from Shores it's a perfect transitional piece which can be layered over a chunky knit for extra warmth, dressed up or dressed down, you can't go wrong with leather!
Shores hit me up and supplied me with this gorgeous leather beauty along with some questions about my blog:
Who is Kate-Louise?
Kate-Louise is a 25year old girl working in retail who adores fashion, cooking, blogging and youtubing.
How did you get into fashion/blogging?
I started my blog years ago but have never really been in to it properly until the last couple of years.I remember my first ever post was about a River Island knuckle duster ring (looking back now it was bloody awful) but I felt I needed to tell the world about my new purchase and thats how it all started.
Who would you say your style icons are?
I draw inspiration from everything, other bloggers, magazines, street style etc Pinterest plays a huge part in where my inspiration comes from though,I'm so addicted to it.If I had to choose a "celebrity icon" then I adore the likes of Mick Jagger and Keith Richards,Alexa Chung,Kate Moss, all the good Brits.A lot of inspiration comes from American Rock bands too like zztop, guns n roses,Kid rock,Van Halen etc,I love how men dress more than women.
Which brands are you into at the moment (fashion and non-fashion related)?
ASOS will always be a firm favourite of mine, they stock such a variety of brands which means I can do all my shopping in one place. For non-fashion related it would be IKEA and independent record shops,I have an awesome one where I live,i'm constantly mooching through their collection for new music.
What fashion trends do you expect to see over the next year?
I expect to see the same as last winter if I'm completely honest,i'm not a huge follower of trends,I predict Fur,grunge,ox blood red, gothic, they tend to circulate every year and as for next summer it will be Florals haha.
Do you wish more people knew about you and your style?
Of course,No one ever creates a blog to gain 20 followers its all about numbers these days which is very sad,I try to avoid this by just using my blog as a hobby and not a job,as soon as it becomes your job you get caught up in the numbers and end up comparing yourself to other bloggers with millions of followers. We all want more of a following but i'm happy with how it's going for now and fully appreciate the people that read my blog.
What’s a typical day for you?
A typical day would be wake up,gorp at my phone for at least an hour, get up,get dressed and do make up,feed the dogs, have breakfast then head out to work.If it's my day off I tend to spend more time in bed and do my blog posts for the week.Epic life I lead ;)
Where do you see yourself in a year’s time?
This is a question I always struggle to answer.I would like to be in a higher position in my job and have some exciting things happening with the blog.
Two/three year’s time?
One of my goals in life is to open my own shop,so I think by then this will be happening if all goes to plan over the next few years.Wish me luck!!

Much Love
