If you are a lover of food like myself you will know that sometimes you have to go far and wide or attend every food festival possible to find new brands.I thought I would gather eight new finds of mine which I have been in love with and make it that little bit easier for people to discover something different…Just call me your personal shopper.
First up is a soft drink range from Radnor Hills called Heartsease Farm, they use their own spring water and natural flavourings to create this beautiful Premium Presse collection. I especially like the Elderflower Presse and the Traditional Lemonade, perfect with some ice for a hot summers day or a lovely addition to a shot of Gin (I will admit,I’ve had lots of these).
FLOWER & WHITE
Need I say anything? Just look at them!!! If they don’t send your sweet tooth into action then there is something seriously wrong with you. Flower & White are the award winning innovators behind a range of sweet treats including Merangz,Muffinz,Tweenerz & Custardz.I can 100% say that these are the best Meringues I have ever tasted, they have got the Sugar balance spot on,they are crisp all the way through and make a perfect accompaniment to a bowl of English Strawberries. They have a massive thumbs up from me!!
ROSS & ROSS
Us Brits love a BBQ and when we get that rare, piping hot Summers day we all seem to go mad and bulk buy enough Sausages and Chicken to last us a lifetime. Ross & Ross have come up with a perfect addition to your meat feast.Simple marinades, rubs and salts will transform your boring Sausages and Dry,flavourless Chicken Drumsticks,I can vouch that the Habanero and Pineapple Marinade is delicious,a must try for any meat lovers out there.
Lets just say …the BEST baked snack I have tried in a very long time.Yushoi are made solely from green peas and rice making them a hell of a lot more healthy than your standard baked crisp (Only 96 Calories to be exact). They are subtly seasoned with a range of sensational flavours including Lightly Salted,Soy and Balsamic Vinegar,Smoked Salt and Szechuan Pepper and Sweet Chilli and Lemon (My Fave) you can pick up the Japanese influence on each mouthful, these have fast become my new favourite “on the go” Snack.
I’m not going to beat around the bush,I am obsessed with Tea so my opinion may be slightly bias, however I think anyone with an inch of a tastebud would agree with me that Suki Teas are Splendid. When these came through the post I immediately opened the Belfast Brew as I’m a huge fan of a strong black tea, with each sip a smile cascaded across my face,a simply beautiful, full bodied blend immediately hit the spot.White Tea Elderflower is another favourite,I am a sucker for anything with Elderflower in,mouthwateringly refreshing yet delicate in taste,I am looking forward to making a Gin and Tonic with this (Yep,Apparently all I do is drink Gin). #sukitea #sukiteatreasures
What’s a food post without a bit of chocolatey goodness? The thing I love about Jim Jams is their awareness of Sugar,I feel up until now there hasn’t been a healthy chocolate spread anywhere, which I believe was a huge gap in the market, that gap now filled,Jim Jams have created a delicious spread which contains 83% less sugar than leading brands which is obviously, on a whole, better for your health, not to mention your teeth. This spread is also suitable for Diabetics and is Gluten Free, whats not to love? An all round winner which still holds on to that pleasing chocolate taste.I can’t wait to make Brownies with this!!
Over the last few years I have become more and more interested in Grains and Pulses,I wouldn’t touch them as a child but after a quarter of a century I have introduced them into my diet and wish I had done so earlier in life. I have recently Founded Hodmedod’s who, alongside British Farmers produce an array of super tasty Pulses,Grains and Flours, some of which include Fava beans,Carlin Peas,Quinoa and yellow Pea Flour.I recently made some Soup and added the Fava beans,I had never tried them before and was immediately won over, such a tasty product and a brilliant addition to bulk up your soups.Theres something wonderfully satisfying about eating food that has been grown and raised in Great Britain.A must try if you are Pulse and Grain crazy.
THE ORGANIC PROTEIN COMPANY
Protein….something I have always been scared of,I’m not sure why,I think I used to get the impression that it would make me pile the pounds on,however with weekly exercise I have noticed nothing but good things.I was initially won over with The Organic protein Company by the fact that they have a passion for animal welfare and donate 25p per pack sold, to Compassion in world farming which helps improve the livelihood of cows and others livestock in the UK. Organic Whey protein is perfect added into fruit smoothies and homemade cakes and bread. This product has turned my views around and i’m really enjoying adding it into my daily diet.I highly recommend this product if you are new to protein.
Have you found any amazing news food brands recently? I would love to know what they are.
