A day in London always means one thing to me….SHOPPING! However, when my boyfriend and I last visited we decided to do something different, save a bit of cash and explore more instead of spending all of our money on fast food and clothes.

We stayed with my brother and his girlfriend in Hackney which always makes things cheaper, if you have relatives or friends living there and can scrounge a couple of nights on their sofa it saves on forking out for Hotels.

DAY 1.

We decided to check out Greenwich Observatory which if you can face a good old walk and an incredibly steep incline then I definitely recommend doing it,the view from the top is stunning and on a clear day you can see for miles. We also had a mooch around The Cutty Sark and Greenwich itself where I drooled over everything in Anthropolgie.

the old ship inn hackney london, chilli con carne,

We headed back to Hackney and went for dinner at The Old Ship Inn which was divine,I had Chilli Con Carne while everyone else opted for burgers, the food was Delish as were the copius amounts of Gin cocktails we ordered.A very laid back vibe with lovely decor and friendly staff, a little gem to check out if you’re ever in the Hackney area, very reasonably priced too as eating out in London can be an absolute rip off.
Why not try something a little different next time you visit London?  I’d love to try something new like visiting the English National Opera (ENO),they hold all sorts of events at the London Coliseum, i’d also love to see the Nutcracker in Ballet form this Christmas,a great day out for the family.I’m off to book my Opera tickets London now!!!
Any Recommendations for things to do in the big smoke? Let me know below
Much Love

Hi there Kate, your trip looked so nice, I did a similar thing with my hubby and 2 daughters where shopping was banned and we did the sights, best being Westminster Abbey. It was amazing, you should visit sometime, there are so many very famous people buried there, kings, queens, writers, sportsmen etc. I actually stood on Charles Dicken's grave stone!! bazaar or what. By the way I love all your channels, even though I'm an old bird I have a young mind. You tickle me up (that means make me laugh) and that is a hard thing to do. The rants are my fave, I have those at work in my office. My colleagues all laugh at me when I set off on one which makes me worse. Anyway keep up the brilliant work, and don't listen to all those wankers who dissed your accent video…………… tossers ):-(
