It’s no secret that Christmas is upon us and I for one am extremely excited to start getting festive. Christmas has always been one of my favourite times of the year, not just the day but more so the lead up, the preparation, the cooking and the entertaining.
Nothing quite beats the smell of the kitchen in November and December, pastries, puddings, stews and canapés come in their hundreds as friends and family gather to share all the goodness that is, Christmas food.
I’ve put together the simplest, quickest of canapé recipe that will keep your guests coming back for more.
:YOU WILL NEED:
400g Ready Rolled Puff Pastry
1 Egg (Whisked)
150g French Brie
6 TBSP Cranberry Sauce
Fresh Thyme Leaves
1.Unroll the pastry sheet and give it a light egg wash all over. Cut into small squares, once the squares have been cut double them and lie on top of one another.
2.Place on a lined baking sheet and pop in the oven (160 Fan) for 10-12 minutes or until golden brown.
3.In the meantime cut small squares of French Brie. When the pastry is starting to turn golden place the Brie on top and pop back in the oven until the cheese has melted.
4.Remove from oven and place on a cooling rack, top with cranberry sauce and a few sprigs of thyme.
Enjoy warm with a glass of mulled wine!
I can guarantee your guests will love you for these, let me know if you make them and how many you get through in the first 5 minutes, I more or less polished them all off single handedly.
