Hello all!! Carrying on with my home series this week and today we’ve landed up in the kitchen. I adore our kitchen, it’s the one place in the house that I spend the majority of my time, cooking, cleaning, entertaining, if there’s one room that I think you should splurge on it is the kitchen (well, if you like cooking that is) . When we had the extension done we had an open plan kitchen/diner/living room idea in mind, solely for the space it gives but more so when someone is cooking in the kitchen we could interact from the living room and vice versa. We included a breakfast bar which we use for breakfast, lunch, dinner, (throwing all our stuff on at the end of the day realistically), it has been super useful and again added the possibility of interaction throughout the living space and provides more seating for guests and ourselves.
All the kitchen is integrated which hides the unsightly appliances and makes everything that bit more streamline. Now I know it might not be to everyones taste, it is very minimal but it works for us, the only thing missing is I would really like to add some more vintage furniture and accessories to this open plan space, things such as enamel ware, utensil canisters and some funky wall hooks for tea towels etc, other than a bit of accessorising here and there we are pretty much finished with the kitchen and we absolutely love how it turned out.
I’d love to hear what you think or what you would have done differently, I can’t wait to do it all again in our new place, it’s been full of ups and downs but the end result is always so satisfying.
